When the Community Hub was formally opened back in June by the Colchester Mayor, Councillor Robert Davidson, we were still limited to numbers because of Covid 19. The Events Committee felt that whilst a range of activities had taken place during the summer by open invitation, a personal invite to every household in Great & Little Wigborough was needed to ensure as many people as possible could see the new Community Space in action. So each household received an invitation in their letter box!
We hosted a number of people during the course of the evening who were amazed at the transformation of the Nave. People were very interested in the history panels detailing the past life of the Parishes and all enjoyed meeting old friends and making new acquaintances, helped along by the cheese and wine on offer!
Each table was encouraged to contribute ideas for future events on a ‘post -it’ pad. By the end of the evening we had a wealth of ideas ranging from a local brewery ale tasting, table-top sales, to arts and crafts sessions. These ideas will go back to the Events Committee for consideration so keep your eyes peeled to the upcoming events posts! We’d love to see you at the next event.
